The agents’ rapid action was possible thanks to the denunciation of a witness passing by the street at the time of the crime. With the information, the police arrived at the scene and managed to stop one of the robbers, who was armed. The second criminal tried to flee toward Alah’s garden, but was reached and arrested by the agents shortly thereafter.
The restaurant’s security cameras recorded all the action. In the images, the criminals, hooded, invade the place and surprise the employees. They make threats, assault some victims and cause panic. While some people try to escape, the robbers go to the cashier and steal money and belongings.
At the time of the crime, employees ended the activities when they were surprised by the robbers.
Everyone involved were recognized by the victims as the authors of the theft. Cell phones, cards and cash in kind were recovered and returned to the victims at the 14th Police Station (Leblon), where the occurrence was also recorded.
