Police identify 5 bodies of missing family in the Federal District

The Civil Police of the Federal District identified, this Thursday (19), five of the seven bodies found of a missing family in the DF. Through DNA tests, it was confirmed that the remains belong to Elizamar Silva, 39 years old, their three children, Rafael and Rafaela, 6 years old, and Gabriel, 7 years old, in addition to Marcos Antônio Lopes de Oliveira, aged 54.

Two other charred bodies found in a car in Minas Gerais are still being identified by the Minas Gerais police. So far, three suspects have been arrested. One of them, who confessed to participating in the deaths, was caught on security cameras at a gas station buying gasoline.

This suspect also alleges that he would receive R$100,000 from Thiago Gabriel Belchior de Oliveira, Elizamar’s husband, and Marcos Antônio Lopes de Oliveira, Thiago’s father, to kill the family.

The police are investigating the hypothesis presented by the suspect, in addition to assessing the possibility that the family was the victim of a kidnapping.
