A 35-year-old woman was charged by the Civil Police after her dogs attacked a woman in the Menino Deus neighborhood, on October 21st. The owner was indicted for the crimes of bodily harm with possible intent and failure to exercise caution when guarding animals. Remember the case .
A 52-year-old woman was attacked by a Pitbull dog, this Monday (21), in Porto Alegre. The victim was leaving the building where he lives, while the animal owner entered the building, when one of the dogs attacked the resident.
The victim was attacked by two American Bully dogs – which is a derivative of the American Pit Bull Terrier – as he left the building where he lives, in the neighborhood of Menino Deus, in Porto Alegre. See the images .
According to delegate Vinicius Nahan, from the 2nd District Police Station of Porto Alegre, the investigations included interviews with the victim and the suspect, in addition to the analysis of images from security cameras that recorded the moment of the attack. A report from a behavioral veterinarian was also requested to assist in investigating the case.
The victim suffered serious injuries, such as bruises, abrasions and edema on various parts of the body. The injuries were duly documented in a police report.
According to Brazilian legislation, the owner can be penalized with imprisonment of three months to one year for bodily injury and simple imprisonment of ten days to two months or a fine for failing to exercise caution when guarding animals.

In the case in question, the owner was considered responsible for not having taken the necessary measures to prevent her dogs from being attacked.
