The Civil Police of the Federal District indicted three men for an attack on digital influencer Diego Pupe, former advisor to Jair Renan Bolsonaro (PL).
According to the police report, João Vitor Silva Santos was charged with threat and bodily harm. Angelo Matos Amaral and Luís Eduardo Amaram Santos were indicted for libel.
The case was registered in the early hours of July 19, a Friday, after a party at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, in Brasília. Diego Pupe went to the 5th Police Station, in the central area of the capital, with reports of the aggression. On social media, with his face bloodied, he gave details about the attack.
“I was at Mané Garrincha and I was attacked by an attacker who I have several cases against. And the Brazilian justice system, unfortunately, is that. He grabbed me from behind, on my back, because he’s a coward. We are here at the police station and we will follow all appropriate measures. I’m waiting for my lawyers because I was rescued by the Military Police,” he said.
According to the incident report, the former advisor was going to the bathroom at the event when he was surprised by the attack. Diego Pupe also said, in his testimony, that the author had taken advantage of a distraction from his security guards to hit him.
According to the delegate responsible for the case, Wellington Barros, police investigations are closed. “Now the analysis is with the DF Public Ministry and the victim’s lawyer, for denunciation and criminal complaint, considering that there are crimes of public criminal action, and others of private criminal action”, he told CNN .
The report contacted Diego Pupe, who preferred not to comment on the indictments. The defenses of the perpetrators named by the police have not yet been found.
