The Federal District Civil Police (PCDF) launched an inquiry, on Sunday (13), to investigate the death of 8 -year -old Sarah Raissa Pereira, who participated in the “Deodorant Challenge”, which began to circulate on social networks.
Last Thursday (10), the child entered the Ceilândia Regional Hospital (HRC), in the Federal District, after inhaling the gas of an aerosol deodorant, which caused him a cardiorespiratory arrest.
The girl was revived about an hour later, but without neurological reflexes, which led to the finding of brain death.
The death was only officially declared on Sunday, when the family also registered the police occurrence. PCDF seeks to clarify how the child had access to the challenge content and identify those responsible for the publication.
Those responsible can be responsible for doubly qualified homicide – for employment of a means capable of causing common danger and because they are a victim under 14, a crime whose penalty can reach 30 years in prison.
