The police carried out an investigation on the premises of the Royal Palm Plaza Resort this Tuesday (26). The procedure was carried out after a 9-year-old girl was submerged for 7 minutes in a pool at the hotel, which is in Campinas (SP), last Saturday afternoon (23).
The Fire Department reported that three vehicles were called, at 6:48 pm, to respond to the incident at the luxury hotel.
According to the Public Security Secretariat, the victim’s father went to the police station to report what happened this Monday (25).
The child was rescued by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to Mario Gattinho Hospital, a pediatric unit in the city.
She remains admitted to the hospital this Tuesday (26). Rede Mário Gatti, responsible for the hospital, does not inform the child’s health status.
The girl was in cardiorespiratory arrest (CRA) and not breathing when firefighters arrived. Two doctors were already on site providing first aid. The situation was stabilized at 7:43 pm, when the victim was taken to the hospital.
The Royal Palm Plaza reported that the girl was trapped in a “specific device for returning water from a waterfall in the main pool”, which has already been diagnosed for evaluation.
The incident was registered as a bodily injury at the 2nd DP of Campinas, which is investigating the case.
