The Civil Police investigates threats and attacks on Izolda Cela, candidate for Mayor of Sobral (CE) for the PSB and former governor of Ceará. The relationship between the attacks and Comando Vermelho (CV) is being investigated by the police, as one of the suspects was also charged with being part of the criminal organization.
So far, four people have been arrested, while two remain at large.
The attacks mainly target Izolda, according to police.
On September 14, Veveu Arruda, the candidate’s husband and former mayor of Sobral, was attacked during a campaign event in the city center, which led to the formalization of the complaint to the police.

Last Wednesday (25), a 20-year-old man was arrested in the Pedrinhas neighborhood, in Sobral. With the capture, the total number of people detained for involvement in the threats reaches four.
The investigation began after the arrest of the first suspect, a 36-year-old man, on September 2, reported for threatening posts on social media. He already had a criminal record for drug trafficking, theft and other crimes, and was charged with threatening and being part of a criminal organization.
The other two detainees are a 31-year-old man, with a history of bodily harm and domestic violence, and a 28-year-old man, with records of drug trafficking and vehicle theft. The arrests were facilitated by analyzing the cell phone of the first detainee.
