The Civil Police are investigating a car company, known as “Prime Veículos”, located in Belo Horizonte, suspected of committing the crime of embezzlement against several customers.
In a report to CNN the lawyer for one of the victims explained that the company closed its doors with dozens of vehicle purchase and sale transactions open, failing to transfer the amounts received, that is, sales, or to provide documentation for the transfer of vehicles.
According to the professional, there are several reports of vehicles missing or in the possession of third parties, which has led to lawsuits being filed with the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais with the aim of financial compensation for losses suffered by customers.
One of the store’s victims said that the company took the consigned car, sold it to someone who paid the store, but the store did not pass the amounts on to the seller. Also according to the victim, many vehicles were sold without paying off previous debts.
According to the Civil Police, an investigative procedure was initiated, under the responsibility of the 1st Police Station for Prevention and Investigation of Theft and Theft of Motor Vehicles, to the detriment of the company.
The police highlighted that there is an investigative procedure opened by the Fraud Division, regarding the same company, and that other details will be passed on at the end of the work.
In a statement, “Prime Veículos” informed that it has closed service at the company’s physical store to restructure operations, but that it will continue to serve online and is available to help customers with whatever they need.
