A 19-year-old student, Ximena Arias-Cristobal, who is studying in a Georgia college, remains in federal detention and is in danger of deportation, after a car accident that, as the authorities eventually admitted, should never have been done. Arias-Cristobal, originally from Mexico, was arrested on May 5 by police in the city of Dalton because-according to authorities-violated a red lantern shift. Eventually the arrest for violating the Road Traffic Code was incorrect causing a tsunami of developments in the 19 -year -old’s life. As local authorities officially recognized Monday, the police officer made a mistake in the vehicle: confused the 19 -year -old’s dark gray gray with another black vehicle who committed the offense.
