Police officer arrested for racial slur during condominium meeting in ES

A retired civil police officer, aged 60, was arrested last Thursday (10) after allegedly committing racial insults against a neighbor, aged 70, during the election for manager of a condominium in Vila Velha, in Greater Vitória (ES) .

According to reports, the attacker, upon realizing that he would lose the election, began swearing at the voting table and the condominium’s lawyer. He also allegedly called for the election to be annulled and tried to attack other residents.

During an attempt to stop the disturbance, the victim claimed to have heard racist insults directed at him by the suspect.

Upon the arrival of the police, the agents went to the suspect’s apartment, who denied the accusations and stated that he was offended by the other condominium owners, being called a “chinelão gaucho” and that they told him to “go back to his land”.

According to the Military Police, the suspect’s daughter confirmed her father’s version and stated that she had been hit in the hand with a plant by other residents.

Both the victim, the suspect and witnesses were taken to the 2nd Vila Velha Regional Police Station.

In a statement, the Civil Police reported that the suspect was charged with racial slurs and sent to the prison system.
