Military police officers exchanged gunfire with criminals last Tuesday night (19) on the Itanhangá road, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro. There are no reports of injuries.
According to the Military Police, agents from the Tactical Motorcycle Battalion were policing the region when they spotted a man with a suspicious attitude. The police requested a stop, but the motorcycle driver fled.
Then, the police were surprised by a group of criminals who fired a series of shots, starting the confrontation. The criminals managed to escape.
After searching the region, a stolen vehicle was recovered and illicit material seized. The incident was registered at the 16th DP (Barra da Tijuca), and the Civil Police reported that they are hearing witnesses of the incident to clarify what happened.
