Police officers investigated for shooting a child with an airsoft gun remained silent during interrogation

The two military police officers investigated on suspicion of involvement in the shooting with an airsoft gun that hit the face of a one-year-old child were questioned last Wednesday (27) by the Military Police (PM) and the Civil Police, but chose to remain in silence.

The images from body cameras have already been included in the IPM and made available to the Public Ministry and the Judiciary. The PM's Internal Affairs Department monitors the investigations

Two military police officers were removed from their duties by the SSP (São Paulo Public Security Secretariat) after a one-year-old child was shot with an airsoft gun. The case was recorded by security cameras on a street in the east of São Paulo.

In the images, a Military Police vehicle appears passing through the street, when it crosses with a motorcycle. Without carrying out an approach, one of the police officers shoots at the people on the motorcycle. The one-year-old child was in the vehicle, being carried by his father.

In a note, the SSP says that it ordered the opening of an investigation by the Civil Police and a Military Police Inquiry to investigate the case.
