Police release images of suspect in shooting that left 22 people dead in the US

Police in Lewiston, Maine, in the United States, released images of Robert Card, a man suspected of shooting and killing at least 22 people in a restaurant and a bowling alley on Wednesday night (25).

In addition to the dead, between 50 and 60 people were injured, according to initial information.

Authorities also obtained images of the vehicle used by the 40-year-old suspect. The Maine State Police confirmed to CNN that the image is of the suspect’s car.

Card is considered “armed and dangerous,” according to a Facebook post from the Lewiston Police Department.

The man is said to be a certified firearms instructor and member of the US Army Reserve.

“Law enforcement is attempting to locate Robert Card 4/4/1983, as a person of interest in connection with the mass shooting at Schemengees Bar and Sparetime Recreation tonight. Card should be considered armed and dangerous. Please contact police if you have knowledge of his whereabouts,” reads a statement from Lewiston Police.

State Police in New Hampshire, another US state, are assisting in the search for Card, including the use of a helicopter, state police spokeswoman Amber Lagace said.
