Last Sunday (15), the Environmental Military Police rescued more than 120 wild birds that were in captivity and mistreated during an illegal tournament on a farm in Suzano, in the Greater São Paulo region.
In total, agents detained 130 people, including the person responsible for the event. 67 environmental infraction notices were registered, totaling R$860 thousand in fines.
A tip led police officers to the location, where they discovered the tournament and identified a group responsible for organizing the event.
During the action, the PM seized 120 vehicles and rescued 122 animals.
