The shooter at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison was a girl. She was 17 years old and took her own life, confirmed a police authority informed about the case to CNN .
At least two people died: a teacher and a student. The suspect, who was also a teenage student at the school, is dead.
“Nine people in total were injured, including the three deceased,” police said in the statement.
“Officers located a female juvenile who they believe is responsible,” Police Chief Shon Barnes said at the news conference.
President Joe Biden was informed about what happened. “The president was briefed on the school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin. Senior White House officials are in contact with local counterparts in Madison to provide support as needed,” said Senior Deputy Press Secretary Emilie Simons.
