The São Paulo Civil Police closed, last Thursday (9), a clandestine factory that allegedly falsified medicines and chemicals in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), two men, aged 36 and 24 were arrested during the action. One of them was the stock controller, while the other helped in various roles, as a general assistant.
At the site, during the police inspection, 50 tons of adulterated or expired products were found, including:
- Medicines
- Food supplements
- Veterinary products
- Cosmetics
- Chemical inputs
Still according to SSP-SP, part of these products, which were stored irregularly had labels describing carcinogenic, toxic and corrosive. The agents also identified “direct and inadequate” disposal of industrial waste on the ground and in a nearby stream.
In addition to the products, several empty bottles and capsules, labels and utensils used to store various products and a notebook used by criminals were collected during the operation.
The case was registered as forgery, corruption, adulteration or alteration of a product intended for therapeutic or medicinal purposes, producing toxic substances, other substances harmful to public health and danger to the life or health of others in the 11th DP of Campinas.
