The Federal, Civil and Military police seized in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), this Thursday (17), about a ton of marijuana in the Itaipu lake, after intercepting a vessel.
The case occurred in the early hours of the morning, when police officers were patrolling to inhibit the activities of smugglers and traffickers on the Lake and spotted a vessel making the crossing from Paraguay to Brazil.
The authorities, then, signaled and ordered the vessel to turn off the engines, but the pilot was not aware of it, and fled to a ravine where he left the vessel and ran into the middle of the forest.
Upon arriving at the vessel, the police discovered several bales containing marijuana, which totaled about a ton of the drug. The agents even searched the forest, but did not find the boat’s pilot.
The boat and the drugs ended up at the Federal Police station in Foz do Iguaçu (PR), where an arrest warrant was issued.
