The Amazonas Civil Police seized 210 pounds of cocaine, valued at R $ 6.3 million, during a lawsuit held last Wednesday (14) in the south of Manaus. Two traffickers were caught in the act.
Investigations began in early May, after police received a complaint about the involvement of 27 -year -old Franciomar dos Santos Junior in drug trafficking between cities of Amazonas.
The suspect used a house in the Cachoeirinha neighborhood as a support point. Arriving at the scene, the police teams spotted Franciomar and Paulo Guilherme Lopes Marques, 27, discharging 40 kilos of cocaine from a vehicle.
After the arrests, the agents went to an apartment and found 160 pounds of cocaine. The property belongs to a person linked to Paulo Guilherme.
“The drug came from Peru and would be distributed in the south of Manaus. The investigations will continue to reach the owner of the narcotic,” said Deputy Rodrigo Torres, director of the State Department of Narcotics Investigations (Denarc).
The suspects were filed in the act and will be responsible for drug trafficking and criminal association.
