The São Paulo police should indict, by qualified theft, the decorator investigated for stealing sacred works of church in São Paulo. This Wednesday (10), the police officers served a search and seizure warrant at a site of the suspect, located in Cotia, in the metropolitan region.
At the site, the investigators located several sacred works that were being used to decorate the property as images of Santos and Quadros. There are also databases and other clothing, as well as religious books, vases and other instruments.
The seizures were held by the 1 DP team, located in the neighborhood of Sé, and authorized by the court after breaking the confidentiality of the suspect’s cell phone. Through this data, the researchers were able to reach the address located in the neighboring municipality.

The Third Church of the Order of Carmo has already recognized some objects through photos. Parish representatives will go to the police station on Friday to continue the recovery procedures.
In February, the Civil Police served search warrants in a decorator apartment in the Higienópolis neighborhood. At the address, the agents found dozens of cloaks, paintings, ornaments and two Latin bibles without documentation and exposed in the residence.
The suspicion began when church officials surveyed the collection and missed a massive silver crucifix. When checking the images of church security cameras, the employees noticed the suspect coming out of rooms with cloth-covered historic pieces and placing the objects in the trunk of the car.
The man, who worked as a decorator in the church, was taken to the police station and, in testimony, said that the works are inheritance and pieces bought from antique shops. Investigations point out that he worked in several historical churches in São Paulo.
Part of the materials recovered in the first operation has already been returned, while other materials were taken to the São Paulo Sacred Art Museum, which cataloged and is making the technical guard of the objects.
