The São Paulo Civil Police reported, on Monday (24), that it analyzes images in search of identifying the man who assaulted writer Marcelo Rubens Paiva in the Baixo Augusta Street Block, in the center of São Paulo, last Sunday (23).

Following, the perpetrator still threw his own backpack towards the writer of “I’m still here,” a book on which the film of the same name is based and competes for three Oscar nominations.
Marcelo chose not to register a police report. In a statement, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) said that the institution remains available to the victim to formalize the occurrence and continuity in investigations. To date, no record of the facts has been located.
In a statement, the block said it has removed the aggressor and hopes that public security officials “have taken some action on him and that they will develop protocols so that episodes like this do not repeat in the city’s largest street event.”
Marcelo Rubens Paiva was supported at the time of aggression and the aggressor was removed by the security guards. “Fortunately, our dear Marcelo was not injured and the incident did not erase the brightness of the exciting tribute,” said the Baixo Augusta Academic Block team.
