Police violence
A black person is killed by the police every four hours in six Brazilian states: Bahia, Ceará, Piauí, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The data are from the new bulletin of the Security Observatories Network and were obtained through the Access to Information Law.
Also according to the report, Rio de Janeiro is the state in which the most black people are killed by the police.

There are already 51 municipalities in emergency situation because of heavy rains in Bahia. At least 11 people died and more than 220,000 were affected.
Pill against Covid-19
Updated data from Pfizer on its experimental treatment with a pill against Covid-19 shows that the drug reduces the risk of hospitalization or death from the disease by 89%. The pill should be given to adults in risk groups a few days after their first symptoms.
The announcement was made on Tuesday (14) by the company after testing the drug in people who did not receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
Omicron
For the first time since the arrival of the Ômicron variant in Brazil, researchers were able to isolate and cultivate the new strain of coronavirus.
The feat will allow advances in the detection of the variant in other regions of the country and in the evaluation of the effectiveness of existing vaccines in combating the variant.
