A man was arrested after trying to steal a retired military police officer in Guarulhos, São Paulo Metropolitan Region, on Monday (14).
According to São Paulo State Public Security Secretariat (SSP) the 45 -year -old suspect would have approached the policeman the armed hand within a bank branch. The victim reacted to the robbery and fired a shot at the man.
Then both entered a body struggle, the criminal managed to disarm the agent and struck him in his face before fleeing.
The suspect was located at Santa Casa de Bragança Paulista, where he received medical attention, and was later arrested in the act.
The victim was rescued and sent to Padre Bento Hospital, where he remained under medical care.
