Political conflict in the Parliament for the economy – The main messages that K. Mitsotakis will send

With the new network of interventions that… tightens the noose for the unvaccinated to take effect from today, aiming to curb the fourth pandemic wave and further boost the vaccination program of the country, the political conflict between the government and the official opposition is now Or Parliament scene.

The discussion at the level of political leaders on accuracy, price increases and increases in energy is expected to develop into another four-point exchange between Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Alexis Tsipras, as, as expected, the range of interventions will cover the entire the political material, at a critical juncture for the course of Covid-19.

In the weeks leading up to the Christmas and New Year celebrations, government officials have, in all tones, expressed their intention to keep the economy and society open, through the bridge of measures adopted last Thursday, at a time when compliance with these new restrictions, but also the rise of “Freedom” will judge, by far, the possibility of further tightening of the whole framework.

From the Plenary Session, shortly after noon, the Prime Minister will outline the framework of government interventions to support households and businesses. The total value of measures to address the pandemic in the period 2020-2022 amounts to 43.3 billion euros, of which 23.1 billion euros relate to 2020, another 16.9 billion euros in 2021 and 3.3 billion billion in 2022.

At the same time, the budgetary cost of interventions amounts to 31.1 billion euros and these elements will be at the forefront of Mitsotakis’ intervention, who will emphasize, once again, that the government’s strategy is at the forefront of the “open economy and society “. According to government officials and Mr. Mitsotakis is expected to point out, for the fourth quarter of 2021 and 2022 the main interventions to address the economic consequences of the pandemic concern, among others:

– The extension until the end of 2022 of the exemption from the special solidarity contribution.

– The reduction by three points of insurance contributions in the private sector.

– In the reduction of the rate of return of all repayable advances depending on the fall of the gross income of the company.

– The extension of the “BRIDGE” program to subsidize installments of loans to households affected by the pandemic for three months in 2021.

– In the extension of the “COOPERATION” program until the end of 2021.

The Prime Minister is expected to make a special reference to the measures taken by the government in order to ανα lay the groundwork for energy-related increases. At the same time, in his speech in Parliament, he will focus on the double increase of the minimum wage in 2022, as well as the return of the excise tax on diesel to young farmers and members of cooperatives for next year.
