As most of France melts from the heat, far -right leader Marin Lepen has announced that it will implement a “big plan for air conditioning” in the country if it wins power in the current elections. In parliament, Lepen, a PAS-De-Calais MP in northern France, said that “air conditioning saves lives”. He said there is a problem in France if public services “cannot operate due to lack of air conditioning, unlike dozens of countries around the world.” Eric Ciotti, Lepen’s ally, submitted a bill to Parliament this week, which demanded a “mandatory air conditioning” for basic public spaces. France has a small number of public spaces and private homes with air conditioning compared to neighboring countries such as Italy.
