Bloody clashes between military and supporters of former president Pedro Castillo in Peru they killed seven people.
Two people died in the incidents near Ayacucho airport, the People’s Ombudsman, an independent authority responsible for the defense of human rights, announced earlier.
In the events after it was suspended by a decision of the parliament and former President Castillo was detained on December 7 at least 15 people have been killed, according to official data.
Demonstrations continue across the Latin American country, especially in the south, despite the declaration of a state of emergency last Wednesday. The escalation of violence in Ayacucho was recorded a few hours after the Supreme Court decided that Mr. Castillo should remain in custody for 18 months, APE-MPE reports, citing AFP.
