Political stalemate in Romania: The caretaker Prime Minister did not receive a vote of confidence

The caretaker Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Tsiolos failed today, Wednesday (20/10) to win the vote of confidence in parliament for its centrist minority government, as was widely expected, prolonging the political stalemate in a period of rising Covid-19 cases.

According to the constitution, the president Klaus Johannes should now define new caretaker Prime Minister after consultations with political formations, possibly from the ranks of his Liberal Party.
