Throughout his life, Silvio Santos became one of the biggest names in Brazilian television. As a businessman, he was a rare type: one who distributed gold bars, which, as he liked to joke, “are worth more than money.”
In addition to the “Programa Silvio Santos”, which is currently presented by his daughter, Patricia Abravanel, Senor Abravanel was responsible for “Topa Tudo por Dinheiro”, which popularized the catchphrase “Quem quer dinheiro?” and other shows such as “Qual é a Música?”, “Show do Milhão”, “Temptation” and “Em Nome do Amor”.
One of his most iconic shows, “Show de Calouros” (Talent Show) premiered in 1977 and lasted until 1996. In that year, the show was revived with the businessman’s daughter. On the other hand, Silvio Santos was also responsible for “Casa dos Artistas”, a reality show aired on SBT between 2001 and 2004, which brought together celebrities who competed for the main prize.
