Pompeo alleges State Department officials’ “chores”

The former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, violated federal rules of conduct regarding the use of taxpayers’ money when he and his wife asked State Department officials more than 100 times to do them personal work, unrelated to their duties, according to a report by the Inspector General of the ministry.

Politico, citing a report by the State Department’s Internal Audit Service, writes that Pompeo and his wife asked a politically appointed official and other employees to “pick up their personal belongings, plan events unrelated to the ministry’s mission and “They do other, personal chores, such as caring for their pets or posting Christmas cards,” the report said.
