The president of the republic, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, was present this Monday (16th), at the inauguration of the new president of Banco do Brasil, Tarciana Medeiros.
On the occasion, the president praised the choice of the first woman to assume this position in the institution and asked her to look more at the small and medium producer.
“I want a very strong Banco do Brasil, with a lot of people depositing money (…). And I want to show you something I said in 2003 and I’m going to say it now: the poor, in this country, are not the problem. He is the solution insofar as he is included in the economy. And we are going to, once again, include poor people in the economy and we want Banco do Brasil to do its part”, he declared.

The new president of the Bank of Banco do Brasil is committed to management to maintain the company’s profitability, while carrying out social functions.
“We will continue to generate an adequate return on the capital invested in the company; they believed in us and we are going to offer a fair return for that trust”, said Tarciana during a speech at the inauguration ceremony, in Brasília.
“BB will continue to be a profitable and solid bank, creating value for society; we can, yes, conciliate a commercial and public performance”, he added.
