Pop on the rise: the 9 most listened to songs in the world on Spotify are from this genre

THE pop genre took Spotify by storm and occupies the first nine positions from the ranking of most listened to songs in the world on the streaming platform this Friday (30). Together, the hits totaled more than 65 million views in the last 24 hours computed.

The person who has been leading the ranking for a few days now is “Die With A Smile” duet of Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga who won the dispute with “Birds Of A Feather” of Billie Eilish with whom she had been rivaling at the beginning of the week. There were 9.5 million listens compared to 8.6 million for the song by the young American, who is now in third place.

Second place goes to “Taste” of Sabrina Carpenter whose clip was released last Friday (23), along with the singer’s new album, “Short n’ Sweet” . Music surpasses hits “Please Please Please” and “Espresso” which have been on the list since they were released and now occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. The first had more than 9 million plays, the second had 7.7 million and the third has almost 7.6 million.

The release of the singer’s new album also boosted “Bad Chem” which is not a single and does not even have a music video, but appears in ninth place with more than 4 million plays.

The sixth position is “Who” from the BTS member Jimin with 7.4 million; in seventh comes “Si Antes te Hubiera Conocido” of Karol G with 5.5 million; and “Good Luck, Babe!” of Chappell Roan also comes in eighth with 5.5 million.

The first song to break the pop world’s hit streak is “Big Daws” of the Indians Hanumankind and Kalmi which has 4 million plays and fits into the rap genre.
