The “immediate canonization” (sado subito) of the honorary Pope Benedict who passed away they asked many believers, who attended his funeral today, Thursday (5/1), in St. Peter’s Square.
“We deliver our brother into the hands of the Father. Let these hands, full of charity, find the lamp lit with the oil of the Gospel, the word of which he spread during his life” pointed out Pope Francisshortly before the completion of the ceremony, as reported by the Athens News Agency citing the Italian media.
Francis approached and prayed, resting his hands on the coffin, shortly before being transferred to the Vatican caves, where the German pontiff was buried.
