Pope Francis has light fever and respiratory infection, says Vatican

Pope Francis, who hospitalized on Friday (14) to treat bronchitis, is suffering from a respiratory infection but is in a stable condition, said the Vatican.

“The Holy Father … went through specialized exams and started hospital drug therapy,” a statement said.

Francisco has been suffering from bronchitis for over a week.

Francisco was hospitalized on Friday morning to continue the treatment of bronchitis and perform tests.

Pope Francis is 88 years old and leads the Catholic Church since 2013. He has suffered from flu and other health problems several times in the last two years.
