Pope Francis, hospitalized for almost three weeks, had another “quiet” night and continues to recover, the Vatican said in a note on Thursday.
On Wednesday (6), the pontiff stopped using noninvasive mechanical ventilation after undergoing the procedure at night to help with breathing.
Francisco, 88, was admitted to the Gemelli Hospital of Rome on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection.
On Monday (3), the Pope suffered what the Vatican described as two episodes of “acute respiratory impairment”. Tuesday’s Health Bulletin (4) reported that the health condition continued stable, and no longer had respiratory crises.
