Pope Leo XIV, 69, may be the official leader of the Catholic Church, but for Louis “Lou” 73, he is still his “little brother.”
The two hugged and talked briefly after the inaugural mass in the Basilica of St. Peter, this Sunday (18).
Lou told Reuters that, knowing the news of his brother’s papacy, he wanted to give him a “rush here.” However, considering that his brother is now the Pope, he commented that “I would probably try to behave a little.”
The pontiff’s brother also said that he does not plan to call him “his holiness” anytime soon. “I’ll call him Rob. Maybe I try to hug him, and maybe they disapprove of it, I don’t know what kind of nonsense they do. But he will always be Rob for me.”
