POPEK requests extension of the diesel subsidy measure

The Panhellenic Federation of Gas Traders (POPEK) requests an extension of the diesel subsidy measure (amounting to € 0.12 plus VAT) with the following letter from the competent ministries, with notification to the Central Union of Chambers of Greece.

The letter in detail:

“TO
MINISTRY OF FINANCE, Minister Mr. Chr. Staikoura
MINISTRY OF DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENT, Minister Mr. Ad. Georgiadis
MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY, Minister Mr. Kon Skreka
COMMUNICATION CENTRAL ASSOCIATION OF CHAMBER OF GREECE,

Subject: “Extending the Grant of Motion Oil”

Honorable Ministers,
Continuous fuel price increases significantly affect the market and lead to an escalation of accuracy throughout the supply chain.
As the price of diesel rises, so do all the goods and services provided, making the burden of accuracy on consumers and businesses unbearable.
Relevant relief to accuracy was given by JM No. 44010 EX 2022, Government Gazette 1540 / Β / 1-4-2022, where a subsidy of € 0.12 before VAT per liter of diesel was granted, which is available on the internal market for the period from the 1st until April 30, 2022.
Given the willingness of the government to relieve the citizens, as well as the tax obligations (ENFIA, Income Tax), it becomes necessary to extend the measure of granting a subsidy of € 0.12 plus VAT on diesel for 2 additional months, ie until June 30, 2022 and until the high fuel prices escalate, in order to give a breath to the pocket of the consumer and the business.
We look forward to your prompt response to our request. “
