POPOKP: Strike at the Funds on December 23 and 24

The workers of EFKA are on strike on December 23 and 24, according to an announcement by the Panhellenic Federation of Personnel of Social Policy Organizations (POPOKP), against the “authoritarianism of the Minister of Labor” and the “privatization of social security”.

In the same announcement, POPOKP, states that “in conditions of escalating attack on the public character of social security, by placing a projectmanager in EFKA, the introduction of individuals in the issuance of pensions, the privatization of the supplementary pension with the creation of TEKA, privatization of the call center and the announcement of the bill on the placement of “executives from the market” in executive positions, the working conditions we experience in EFKA compose a gloomy middle-of-the-job scenario with intensification of work, tragic lack of staff, basic training and basic equipment employees.

The icing on the cake is the announcement of the Minister of Labor, Mr. Hatzidakis, in the form of a Press Release on Friday 17/12, for the revocation of the permits of the employees at EFKA for the period of the holidays and their transfer 10 days later. “It is as if the problem of thousands of outstanding pensions will be solved by revoking the permits of the workers who experience their daily job extermination”, says POPOKP.
