The popular service DeviantArt, a kind of social network and platform for artists, photographers and illustrators, is under the threat of blocking in Russia
On July 29, Roskomnadzor sent a “regular” demand to the DeviantArt administration to remove materials posted on the site that violate Russian law. This was reported by the press service of Roskomnadzor.
The department explains:
Earlier, Roskomnadzor repeatedly sent requests to remove illegal information to the resource popular among drawing lovers, including among children. “
As the department emphasizes, currently on DeviantArt you can still find materials with child pornography, suicidal, pro-narcotic, Nazi and other content recognized as prohibited by the Russian authorities and courts.
Roskomnadzor still hopes that the DeviantArt administration will responsibly approach its responsibilities and remove materials prohibited in Russia, so that such a popular resource among Russian users will not have to be blocked. Nevertheless, Roskomnadzor is ready to restrict access to DeviantArt in Russia if prohibited content is not removed.
