Rinaldo Amaral, bassist for the band Ultraje a Rigor known as Mingau, remains in serious condition, according to the latest medical bulletin issued by Hospital São Luiz, in Itaim, south of São Paulo, this Monday morning (4).
The musician remains in the ICU, sedated and kept under mechanical ventilation. There were no significant changes after the neurosurgery he underwent this Sunday (3), his 56th birthday. The procedure lasted about 3h30.
The musician was shot in the head in Paraty, on the Costa Verde in Rio de Janeiro. He was rescued at Hugo Miranda Municipal Hospital, where he was stabilized and then transferred by helicopter to São Paulo.
Investigation identifies four involved
The Paraty Civil Police identified four suspects involved in the attempted murder of Mingau, all of whom are members of the same criminal faction, which runs drug trafficking in the region where the bassist was shot.
One of the suspects was arrested on Sunday afternoon (3). He was identified as João Victor, 29 years old, and will undergo a custody hearing this Monday (4), which will determine whether preventive detention will be maintained.
With João Victor, a .40 caliber pistol was seized, in addition to ammunition. At the crime scene, three cases of ammunition and a detonated projectile of the same caliber were found.
According to delegate Marcello Russo, head of the Paraty Police Station, searches are being carried out to locate the other three involved.
