Porsche driver will be held accountable for the death of his friend during an accident in Belo Horizonte

A 32-year-old man will be held accountable for the death of a friend after driving a Porsche at 200 km/h and causing an accident, in December 2023, in Belo Horizonte (MG).

According to the Civil Police, the businessman and his friend left a nightclub and were returning home in the luxury vehicle, which collided at high speed with a tree, causing the death of the passenger.

Investigations indicate that Rodrigo Rodrigues Andrade Chiatti consumed alcoholic beverages at the establishment, according to the order form analyzed by the Civil Police.

Furthermore, security footage recorded the moment the men left, when the driver appeared with a bottle in his hand.

According to the delegate responsible for the case, Rodrigo Otávio Gomes Fagundes, the vehicle may have reached at least 200 km/h, on a road with a maximum permitted speed of 60 km/h.

Gomes also stated that Rodrigo Chiatti was disqualified from driving on the day of the incident and had already been involved in other incidents. His National Driver’s License (CNH) was revoked and had been suspended for about 11 years, he stated.

“In addition to this, he was involved in three other very serious incidents of the same nature, in which he had already been found to be driving without a license,” highlighted the delegate.

The businessman will be charged with qualified homicide and will have 20 days to present his defense. CNN tries to locate the businessman’s lawyer.
