Porsche Introduces Vision Gran Turismo: Exclusive Car For Sony Consoles

For quite a long time, Porsche did not officially grant the rights to its branded cars and trademark to anyone except Need for Speed - an exclusive contract was signed with EA back in 1997. Fortunately, in 2017, it expired, which the representatives of the automotive giant immediately took advantage of, and yesterday, December 5, Sony, together with Polyphony and Porsche, officially unveiled the latest sports car with electric power plants called the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo. The announcement was made as part of the finalization of the Nations Cup at Gran Turismo Sport FIA GT, which only piqued public interest.

During the presentation of the electric hypercar, the manufacturer emphasized that this is an exclusively conceptual project that was developed specifically for the video game – the car will be exclusively available in the Gran Turismo 7 race, which will be released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles in March 2022. Accordingly, only the owners of the Sony console will be allowed to ride the novelty, and the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo will never go into mass production, but the automobile giant believes that this is a vivid reflection of the future of sports cars. The design of the electric car has been created for two years – the hypercar was designed so that it provides ideal weight distribution, handling and incredible acceleration dynamics.

Of course, the engineers paid special attention to the aerodynamics of the car, equipping it with rather impressive sills and body kits, while the door, if you can call it that, opens upward in the form of a kind of transparent hatch. Also, the concept received quite stylish running lights and a brake light made in the form of one continuous strip, and the wheels are made in a special design to improve the aerodynamics of the electric car. The latter feature, for example, is actively used by Tesla. Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, no one names the characteristics of the car, but it will obviously be one of the fastest in Gran Turismo 7.
