Porsche unveils Mission R: a 1088-horse, eco-friendly electric racing car

Almost all major car manufacturers are now working on the creation of electric cars – this is the future and such vehicles, of course, are much less harmful to the environment. But Porsche decided to go further – they not only created a car that can boast of zero emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, but is also assembled from environmentally friendly materials. And this is not a city sedan, but a real race car for tracks – today, September 7, the company presented the world with a concept called Mission R, which marked Porsche’s plans for the future.

It should be said right away that the electric car is not even close to inferior to its competitors’ internal combustion engines in terms of power or speed – the total output of electric power plants reaches 1088 horsepower (torque is not specified), which, with all-wheel drive, gives insane acceleration. The manufacturer said that the Mission R picks up from zero to one hundred in just 2.5 seconds at a top speed of 300 kilometers per hour. Yes, this is not a record for the segment, but the concept is not inferior in terms of capabilities of the 911 GT3 Cup, although it does not harm the environment in any way. But the most interesting thing in the new product is not so much the speed as the body and its materials – this is the real future.

The fact is that the body of the Porsche Mission R is completely made of plastic, which was reinforced with natural fiber threads for additional strength. The same material is used for interior decoration, and the cockpit of a racing car can be converted for use in a computer simulator. That is, the car itself does not emit harmful substances into the atmosphere, but there are no harmful emissions in the production of vehicle components either. Of course, this particular model will not reach mass production, but the developments will be used in future cars of the brand.
