Porsche was driven at 156 km/h before accident that killed app driver

Businessman Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, 24, was driving a Porsche vehicle at 156 km/h, moments before being involved in an accident that killed app driver Ornaldo da Silva Viana, on March 31, in Zona East of São Paulo.

The maximum speed allowed on the road is 50 km/h.

The information about the vehicle's speed, which was three times above the limit, was confirmed by the São Paulo Public Ministry, which added that a 3D scanner was requested “to elucidate the accident in detail”, according to the note.

This Tuesday morning, the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) informed that the police officers involved in approaching the young man shortly after the accident will be held responsible for procedural failure.

According to the folder, the failure was discovered after analyzing the images from the body cameras that were attached to the uniforms of the agents who responded to the incident.

In the version presented by the businessman's mother, Daniela Cristina de Medeiros Andrade, she asked the police for permission to leave the scene, claiming that she was taking her son to the hospital to treat a wound in his mouth.

The police then released the woman, but when they went to the hospital, they were informed that no one had been admitted there. The Public Ministry, in a statement about the case, reported that mother and son had acted to hinder the investigation.

The investigation that investigates the case continues in the 30th Police District, however, with the transfer of the former authority responsible for the case, the person continuing the investigation is delegate Milton Burguese who, according to the SSP, has “experience in investigating crimes against the system financial and money laundering”.

Remember the case

At around 2:30 am on March 31, the Porsche driven by businessman Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, 24 years old, hit the back of the Renault Sandero which was driven by app driver Ornaldo da Silva Viana, 52 years old.

Viana was rescued and taken by the Fire Department to the Tatuapé municipal hospital, but he could not resist his injuries and died. The driver of the Porsche left the scene of the accident in the company of his mother, who told the police that she was taking her son to a hospital because of an alleged injury he had in the mouth area.

However, police officers later went to the hospital recommended by his mother, but found no record of him entering the unit. Fernando only presented himself to the police on the afternoon of the 1st.

The accident occurred on Avenida Salim Farah Maluf, in the east zone, where the speed limit is 50 km/h. Images captured by surveillance cameras show the imported car traveling at high speed until hitting the Sandero. Click here to watch the video.
