According to researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at the University of Louisiana, potatoes do not have a negative effect on glucose levels in the blood and can actually help people to lose weight.

When certain high-calorie foods in their meals were replaced with potatoes, subjects who participated in the study university they have in fact found themselves fuller in a short time and often have not even finished their entire meal.
Not only that: the participants were all subjects with overweight, obesity or insulin resistance, but their blood glucose levels were not negatively affected by potato consumption. Plus, everyone they actually lost weight.
