Daniela Rattis Manique, representative of the company, explains: “Through a very strong temperature and a whole technology we develop, today we work with 99% operating rate. In our Paulínia unit, which produces more than one and a half million tons per year, we already have 95% neutrality”.
The environmental impact, according to the company, is equivalent to the removal of millions of cars from the streets for a year. In addition, the initiative goes beyond gas transformation, including an extensive reforestation program. The project also has a significant component of environmental restoration. More than 2 million native seedlings have already been planted, contributing to the capture of carbon and revitalization of local biodiversity.
“We are doing all the reforestation of the Atlantic Forest in our industrial area. We have 16 million square meters, of which only 15% are industrial area. The remainder, about 85%, is being reforested with the native forest of the region.
