MediaTek has unveiled the flagship Dimensity 1200 single-chip system, which is manufactured in a 6nm process.
The Dimensity 1200 configuration includes eight cores (1 + 3 + 4), the main one is Cortex-A78, which operates at 3.0 GHz. Additionally, three more Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.6 Hz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores operating at a frequency of 2.0 Hz are installed. For comparison, the Dimensity 1000+ used an old Cortex-A77 core with a maximum frequency of 2.6 GHz. In single threaded mode, the new platform should be about 20% faster.

As for Dimensity 1100, this platform is aimed at mid-range smartphones. It does not have a main core, all four Cortex-A78 cores operate at 2.6 GHz. There are also four Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0Hz. However, the manufacturer claims that Dimensity 1100 is architecturally over Dimensity 1000+, which allows the platform to be faster in both single-threaded and multi-threaded modes.
Both single-chip systems received a 9-core Mali-G77 graphics accelerator. The Dimensity 1200 supports 168Hz screens and its 5-core image processor supports cameras up to 200MP. In addition, with the updated artificial intelligence system, the processing of night images is 20% faster. Dimensity 1100 supports 144Hz screens and 108MP cameras.

Several companies will soon be using Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 in their smartphones. Realme, Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo will release new items in March.
