Audi unveiled the A6 e-tron concept at the Shanghai Auto Show. This is the prototype for the all-electric version of the A6 business sedan, which will go into series production in 2022. The first market for it, apparently, will be China, although production in Europe should also begin next year. In the Celestial Empire, cars will be produced at the facilities of the FAW Audi joint venture.

We’re currently evaluating the design and performance of the concept, but the production-electric Audi A6 is unlikely to be much different. At the heart of the car is the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, developed in collaboration with Porsche. The length of the A6 e-tron is 4.96 m, the power of the power plant, consisting of several electric motors, is 475 hp. This is more than the pre-top version of the current petrol A6 – S6 C8 2.9 TFSI quattro (450 hp). The A6 e-tron takes less than 4 seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h.

The concept’s traction battery capacity was 100 kWh, and the WLTP range was 700 km. Support for fast charging with a capacity of 270 kW is declared: 10 minutes of connecting to such a terminal gives 300 km of run. And it takes only 25 minutes to charge the battery from 5 to 80 percent.
