The national electrical system has suffered attacks in recent hours with the demolition of power transmission towers. The operation, however, was not affected and the National Integrated System (SIN) had no problems.
Towers were knocked down in Paraná and Rondônia and, according to the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), there are signs of “sabotage and vandalism”.
The occurrences appear in documents from the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
According to the ONS bulletin, three occurrences took place between Sunday and Monday. At 9:30 pm on Sunday, the 8th, a transmission tower on the transmission line between Usina de Samuel and the city of Ariquemes, both in Rondônia, fell.
The fall of the tower caused the disconnection of the transmission line, but there was no significant consequence for the national system, says the ONS.
Shortly after midnight, at 00:13 on Monday, the 9th, several actions were recorded on the Furnas transmission line that connects Foz do Iguaçu, in Paraná, to Ibiúna, in São Paulo.
In a sequence of towers, one was knocked down and three others were damaged. The action took place about 50 kilometers from Foz do Iguaçu, in the Paraná municipality of Medianeira.
An Aneel report mentions that “there are signs of vandalism” at this location. “No adverse weather conditions that could have caused the towers to fall were identified”, mentions the document.
According to the ONS, there was no significant consequence for the national system of the occurrence in Paraná, and the normalization of the operation is scheduled for Friday, 13.
Less than 30 minutes later, another occurrence, this time on the transmission line of the Madeira Complex, in Rondônia. The action took place in the same way as the previous ones, with the collapse of a tower.
According to the ONS, again there were no significant consequences for the National Integrated System.
According to Aneel, “there are signs of sabotage” and the agency’s report mentions that “two stays were cut” – steel cables to support the towers.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy and other bodies in the sector adopted a special operation to monitor the issue.
