PPC is scanning the market for possible acquisitions

Of Thanks to Floudopoulos

PPC is scanning the market looking for possible acquisition opportunities, the company’s management said yesterday when informing analysts about the results of the first quarter.

Although no further details were given, it is worth noting that the name of PPC has been heard in relation to the RES portfolio of the company Volterra, which is under concession by the AVAX group.

In any case, except for the acquisitions, PPC continues the organic development of its portfolio of RES projects, with the aim of becoming the fastest growing platform for renewable energy sources in Greece.

According to the data presented yesterday, there is remarkable progress in the projects under construction as 50MW have been completed and at the moment projects are in progress for about 355MW.

At the same time, applications for environmental conditions permits have been submitted for approximately 350MW of photovoltaic systems, while significant progress is being made in licensing maturity as the viability of 4GW power projects has already been ensured.

This means that more than 80% of the target for 5GW projects in the next three years is in development (2.2GW are in the binding terms phase and 1.8GW in the environmental conditions version).

About 650MW of projects are in the final preparation plan for the selection of a contractor.

At the moment, PPC has 239MW in operation, while for the next six months it is expected to reach 489MW as the 200MW project in Ptolemaida and the 50MW in Megalopolis are under construction.

In the next 6-18 months it is expected to reach 593MW as 39MW of wind and 65MW of photovoltaics will be added in Western Macedonia, while in 18-24 months 550MW + 94MW of photovoltaics will be added in Ptolemaida, 70MW of wind in Northern Greece and 191M Defense. The company’s goal is to reach 5GW projects by 2025.
