PPC signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Transparency Authority

In order to cooperate in the exchange of information and data for the development and consolidation of best practices, strengthening integrity, accountability and the fight against corruption, PPC SA. and the National Transparency Authority (NDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The common expected goals included in the PPC Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Transparency Authority, were confirmed during the signing of the MoU, by the President and CEO of PPC George Stassis and the Commander of the National Transparency Authority Angelos Binis. The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, June 7, at the PPC offices, was attended by the Legal Adviser and General Manager of the General Directorate of Legal Affairs and Corporate Governance of PPC Argyris Oikonomou, the General Manager of Integrity and Accountability of Konstantinos and Accountability Alexandra Stavrinou.

According to the MoU, multilevel cooperation includes specific actions and initiatives to strengthen integrity mechanisms, deepen internal control and intensify training and awareness-raising. Specifically it includes:

Integrity mechanisms

Support for strategy planning, integrated policy and targeted actions to strengthen and fight corruption,
Development of a tool for assessing the level of maturity of integrity and anti-corruption mechanisms (integrity maturity model),
Providing know-how for the design of a methodological framework for integrity risk management,
Overview of the revised Code of Ethics of PPC and optimization proposals,
Exchange of know-how and methodological tools between EAD and the Regulatory Compliance Department of PPC,
Exchange of know-how for the protection of the complainants through the creation of an internal channel for reporting anonymous complaints to the PPC (internal reporting channel),
Support in the development and configuration of the complaint channel through EDYTE.

Internal control

Development of an evaluation tool of the Internal Control System,
Providing know-how for the development of tools in the Internal Audit Unit,
Providing access to the Network of Internal Auditors of Public Administration of the National Transparency Authority.

Education / Awareness

Design and implementation of training program for integrity risk management, webinars and training workshops on integrity and internal control,

Awareness workshops on the PPC Code of Conduct as well as on issues of integrity and internal control.

This cooperation will focus on areas such as the exchange of know-how and methodological tools between EAD and the Regulatory Compliance Department of PPC SA, the development of tools for the evaluation of the Internal Control System, the design and implementation of a training program for risk management, and the organization of awareness days on issues of integrity and internal control, webinars and training workshops for the staff and executives of PPC SA “.
