“Practice of market prices is necessary”, says new president of Petrobras

The new president of Petrobras, José Mauro Ferreira Coelho, said in his first speech at the head of the state-owned company, this Thursday (14), that he should follow the practice of prices in accordance with the international market.

“We understand that the practice of market prices is a necessary condition for the creation of a competitive business environment, for attracting investments, attracting new economic agents in the sector, expanding the country’s infrastructure and guaranteeing supply”, he highlighted.

THE CNN had already anticipated the intention of the new president in defense of market prices and international parity, as sources told economic analyst Raquel Landim.

Ferreira Coelho also highlighted that the company has social responsibility and will invest in projects that seek to solve social and environmental problems.

“Such a scenario (market pricing) leads to increased competition, with benefits for the Brazilian consumer. However, we cannot forget our social responsibility. Thus, we will invest in socio-environmental projects, programs related to human rights and in the solution of social and environmental problems,” he declared.
